NN1 Dev Club

I don’t tend to do talks anymore, and certainly never about Skoolkit and disassembling ZX Spectrum game code! So this is very much a first for me.

I feel like I’ve really found a home at NN1 Dev Club, it started in March 2024 and runs an event every 2-3 months at Vulcan Works in Northampton, UK. I’ve been to other events before this, and never felt like they were quite right for me - just not quite technical enough … But, NN1 Dev Club is an event for developers run by developers and, it is exceptional!

Hack & Share

NN1 Dev Club has been running for a while now, and covers a very nice range of topics. Every now and then, they run a “Hack & Share” event - where speakers give short 15 minute segment presentations to showcase their side projects.

Obviously for me … I presented a little about Skoolkit, how it works and my work with disassembling various ZX Spectrum games.

It was only short, but I managed to get in a little about me, a little about how the Z80 works, and a little about how addresses “work”. I think it went down fairly well thankfully! I got some lovely feedback.

Not that it reflects my presentation, but I have written up a small “how-to” guide: here. This briefly touches on how I personally set up new projects and covers a little about how I go about working out what goes where 😄
